The
glazing material you choose for your conservatory is an
important consideration in relation to ambient temperature
and heat conservation. Glass or poly-carbonate can both
be used for the roof and each offers heat and glare-reducing
properties, and both are produced in a variety of tinted
options. |
Polycarbonate is now the most widely
used roof glazing material, being strong, very light and easy
to work with. It is produced in a range of finishes including:
opal, bronze or clear.
A glass conservatory roof is often preferred and has the advantage
of giving clearer vision and being quieter when it rains.
Glass roofs and side frames should be toughened in order to
meet stringent safety requirements in conservatory design.
